Agenda
The OPTA Board of Directors invites members to learn about and have input into OPTA initiatives with the U of T Transit Analytics Lab.
In an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping every sector it touches, public transit stands at a pivotal crossroads. The complexity of today’s urban mobility challenges - rising operating costs, shifting rider expectations, workforce transformation, and sustainability imperatives - demands more than incremental change. It requires a new kind of infrastructure: one built not from concrete and steel, but from data, algorithms, and collaboration.
AI Transit Town (AITT) answers that call. Proposed by the Transit Analytics Lab (TAL) at the University of Toronto, AITT is a bold initiative to build a shared, cloud-based virtual environment where transit agencies and academia can reimagine and reengineer the future of mobility - together.
