Senior Planner – System and Policy, Strategy and Service Planning Department

Speaker Bio:  Stephanie Simard is the Senior Planner - System and Policy in the Strategy and Service Planning Department. She is responsible for developing standards and policies to govern the provision of TTC services. Since joining the TTC in 2015, she has worked on the TTC’s Service Standards, microtransit, service integration and automated vehicles. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Masters of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining the TTC, she worked for 6 years as a Transportation Planning consultant.

Preamble: Transit agencies across North America are hemorrhaging riders on conventional transit.  At the same time, paratransit programs are experiencing explosive demand challenges which call into question their future sustainability. This webinar showcases case studies from transit properties across North America that have been questioning the traditional model of siloed service delivery and pivoting to integrated service delivery models for the benefit of the customer and agency.

Sasha Pejcic is Managing Senior Associate with overall responsibility for operations management and the financial performance of Stantec’s Transportation Business Line for the Greater Toronto Area.

In addition, Sasha leads Stantec's Transit Advisory practice where he helps transit agencies rationalize their services to grow ridership, improve customer satisfaction, and maximize cost efficiencies. Sasha has led a broad portfolio of transit-related assignments that include operations and maintenance (O&M) contracting, service optimization, service planning, transit services review, alternative service delivery strategies, paratransit, hazard/risk analysis, asset management, economic analysis, standard operating procedures and strategic planning.

As a demonstrated leader in transit, Sasha was accepted into ENO's prestigious and competitive transit leadership program for 2018 in San Diego. He proudly serves as a Director of the Board for the Ontario Public Transit Association (OPTA), sits on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM), and is involved with numerous industry committees of both CUTA and APTA.
