Preamble: As a new added benefit for members, OPTA is working with Business Members to provide monthly education webinars for Transit System Members.  This webinar is the first one to be offered and was requested by members attending the OPTA Maintenance Committee at OTE.

This webinar will share Cummins view on industry trends and technologies:

  • What are the key trends and how will they impact urban over time?
  • What is the Cummins Power of Choice?
  • What technologies are behind Electrified Power and how does it apply to Urban Transit?
  • What does the industry need to consider when adopting these new technologies?

Speaker:             

Gary Parker
Director - Electrified Power Engineering Programs, Cummins Inc

Speaker Bio:  Gary Parker serves as the Director of Electrified Power Engineering Programs for Cummins Inc.  He is responsible for developing and advancing the electrified power initiatives in the markets that Cummins serves.  These initiatives include the Electrified Power of Choice technologies such as plug-in hybrids, range extenders, and electric vehicle powertrains.  Gary is responsible for building Cummins Electrified Power technical capabilities for the new Electrified Power business unit.  Gary has been an employee at Cummins Inc. for 21 years.  He has a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University with a focus on Mechatronic systems and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
