Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF) Conference Call

Registration deadline is 12:00 noon, Tuesday Sept 6, 2016. The call in details (phone number and passcode) will be emailed with the slide deck for the call, following the registration deadline.

On Tuesday August 23rd, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and the Premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, announced a bilateral agreement that will provide more than $2.97 billion in combined funding – by the Government of Canada, Ontario, and municipalities – for projects across the province.  Click HERE for the press release.  The funding will help maintain and expand Ontario’s public transit systems.

At the AMO conference in Windsor last week, Premier Wynne confirmed that the intake process for applications for the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF) will begin in early September.  To that end, MTO and OPTA are hosting conference calls for all transit system managers and other interested municipal officials, to answer questions about the application process and program details.

All municipalities in Ontario with transit systems (conventional and/or specialized) will receive their allocation letters from MTO by mail.
